Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real

Built around an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Dominican base brightened with Nicaraguan leaf, Reserva Real reads as a Connecticut-shade temperament with a touch of backbone. Expect cedar and general wood up front, a cereal/graham sweetness and gentle nuttiness through most of the smoke, and only restrained pepper or baking-spice when the blend firms. Construction is typically steady across a wide range of vitolas — tubos, box-pressed belicosos, Churchills and more — producing even burn, dependable ash and moderate smoke volume; very thin lancero shapes can tighten and bring out sharper edge notes. The wrapper's lightly-toothed surface and tender aroma keep the line approachable, while the Dominican/Nicaraguan filling provides enough structure for smokers who want a restrained, everyday cigar with more character than a plain Connecticut. Altadis's later AJ Fernandez-produced Nicaraguan variants push the profile toward oakier, pepper-forward territory for those who prefer a firmer take.
