Montecristo Epic Vintage 12

Built from aged 2012 Dominican leaf with Nicaraguan structure, the Epic Vintage 12 wears an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and a Dominican binder and is produced at Tabacalera de García. It opens with a distinctly Dominican sweetness—cream, raisin and a cola/stone-fruit sugar—backed by milk‑chocolate hints, then pivots into toasted cedar, dry wood and a carried black‑pepper retrohale. Mid‑to‑late thirds bring toasted oak, coffee and mocha edges with a persistent dry‑wood finish; flavor is forward and can press into medium‑plus body when pushed. The line's defining notes are the explicit 2012 vintage fillers and the Grupo de Maestros assembly: expect a pronounced retrohale, a sweetness‑to‑wood transition, generally firm draw and the occasional early burn quirk that gives way to layered, bakery‑to‑toasted‑wood character.
