Montecristo Espada Signature Limited Edition

Developed as a Montecristo–Plasencia collaboration with Rafael Nodal and the Grupo de Maestros, the Espada Signature Limited Edition was rolled at Plasencia Cigars S. A. in Estelí using aged tobaccos from the Plasencia library. The blend is a Nicaraguan puro: a Jalapa-grown Colorado Claro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and Estelí filler, released in a single Valiente (6 × 55) format in late 2021. Smoking it reads medium-bodied — a pepper-and-spice opening eases into creamier midsections with cedar and oatmeal notes, then settles toward dry earth, dark chocolate and espresso. Reviewers also call out a lively black-pepper retrohale and a palate that shifts from spicy, vegetal tones early to more rounded espresso and cedar toward the finish. It's a tobacco-forward, somewhat assertive expression that pairs Montecristo styling with a Plasencia showcase of Jalapa and Estelí character.
