Connecticut Meets Nicaragua
Montecristo M
Montecristo M wraps a certified golden Ecuadorian Connecticut‑seed (Connecticut‑shade) leaf—aged more than 20 years—over a Nicaraguan binder and long‑filler. Positioned in the medium strength lane, it blends creamy cedar and light baking‑bread sweetness with black pepper and earthy Nicaraguan spice; available in Robusto (4 3/4 x 54), Toro (6 x 52), No. 2 (6 1/4 x 52) and Churchill (7 x 50).

The M is built around a scarce, certified Ecuadorian Connecticut‑seed wrapper aged over 20 years, set atop Nicaraguan binder and long‑filler — a pairing that gives the cigar a Connecticut veneer with unmistakable Nicaraguan muscle. AJ Fernández is credited as the blender and factory partner, and the result is a medium‑leaning smoke that can flirt with medium‑full early before settling into a steadier medium body. Initial draws deliver cream, toasted cedar and a faint baking‑bread sweetness while the Nicaraguan core pushes through as black pepper, earth and, in the final third, touches of light leather or coffee; the retrohale shows clear pepper that softens as the cigar progresses. Construction and draw are generally praised, and production is limited given the rarity of the wrapper — a small‑batch release that keeps the profile relatively restrained, which some smokers prefer and others find a touch linear.
