Perfecto Tradition
Arturo Fuente Hemingway
Hemingway is Arturo Fuente’s hand‑rolled perfecto series brought back in 1983 and produced in the Dominican Republic, most commonly built with African Cameroon wrappers over Dominican binder and filler and sitting in the medium to medium‑full strength lane.

Hemingway exists to preserve the art of the perfecto: two tapered ends, a bulge in the middle and a rounded head—shapes handled by Fuente’s most experienced rollers and aged at Chateau Fuente before release. The signature Cameroon‑wrapped naturals dominate the line, though some sizes have seen Connecticut Broadleaf maduro or sun‑grown dressings. Smoking character favors cedar and coffee with a bright citrus lift and a pleasant sweetness—milk chocolate or caramel—tempered by a measured black‑pepper edge in later thirds. Construction and draw are regularly praised despite the format’s challenges, so these perfectos behave from first light to the nub whether one chooses a Short Story, Signature, Classic or the larger showpieces.
