The blend uses preserved Dominican fillers (the notes reference San Vicente leaf set aside from a 1997 cosecha), which gives the cigar structure and an old‑school seasoning that steadies the transitions. Expect a clear arc: brown‑sugar and cedar early, baking spice and pepper as the darker wrapper asserts itself, then cocoa and persistent earthy notes from the broadleaf component. Strength runs medium‑to‑full and the deliberate wrapper interplay is the line’s defining move—one stick, two characters that evolve through the session.

The Reserva Privada Claro is the family’s Connecticut voice: a silky Ecuadorian CT wrapper layered over aged Dominican fillers (including San Vicente leaf from a preserved 1997 cosecha and a touch of Pennsylvania tobacco). The result is measured and composed rather than aggressive—cedar and cocoa ride over a creamy, lactic texture with a gentle natural sweetness. Strength sits in the medium lane and construction leans toward even draws and a lingering, delicate finish. Reserva Privada Oscuro takes the family’s preserved San Vicente leaf (noted as set aside from a 1997 cosecha) and finishes it under a dark Oscuro wrapper to deepen sweetness and roast. The cigar pushes toward medium‑full strength with thicker texture and molasses‑to‑cocoa tones balanced by black pepper and baking spice; nutty and dried‑fruit undertones and cedar show in the finish. The project is a limited production complement to the Reserva Privada line and is notable for marrying very old Dominican fillers with a weighty Oscuro skin—resulting in a more enveloping, slightly sweeter expression that still keeps Quesada’s restraint in play.
