Released in 2014 to mark Padrón's 50th anniversary, the Padrón 50th Anniversary was a limited registered humidor program of 1, 000 individually numbered chests containing 50 ten‑year‑aged Nicaraguan cigars each. The 50th Anniversary project was conceived as both a smoking product and a collector's piece: individually numbered humidors, sequentially numbered cigars, and a multi‑year refill option for buyers. Blend and construction adhered to Padrón's Nicaraguan puro identity and the tobaccos were aged a minimum of ten years before release—an extended aging regimen that shows in concentrated cocoa, earth and espresso notes and a firm structural backbone. Editorial coverage at launch placed early scores in the mid‑90s, but the distinguishing feature remains the presentation: a high‑ticket, limited production humidor designed to age and to be smoked on moments that call for something deliberate and substantial.
