Fausto grew from Pete Johnson’s more aggressive prototypes into a core line that wears a dark Ecuador Habano over a Nicaraguan binder and filler heavy in higher primings and ligero from Estelí and Jalapa. That construction produces a cigar with real structural bite: dark chocolate and roasted espresso up front, a cedar‑and‑leather mid‑palate and a steady black‑pepper spine that carries into the finish. Strength builds quickly, pushing the cigar into full range in many vitolas, while flavor body ranges from medium‑full to full as the smoke progresses. The recipe prioritizes clarity of spice and tannin over syrupy sweetness, and the line has been used for everything from standard production sizes to thicker trade‑show and limited experiments.
