True hidden gem in Jersey. Tucked away like a well kept secret in a small plaza. The perfect place for the true aficionado, incredibly comfortable and laid-back. The perfect balance: relaxed without being sleepy, upscale without feeling pretentious. Place were time slows down and conversation comes easily. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely passionate.

I’ve been to the smoking dog in Maple Shade 3 times now and with each visit my appreciation grows. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the lounge is very comfortable and cozy, and the cigars! The cigar selection is quite obviously curated by people with a true passion for the cigar world and all it has to offer. There is a wonderful, well thought out selection on display. Boutiques, new releases, high end cigars, they seem to have just about everything I’m looking for with quality at every turn. I was really amazed to see the quality selection of lanceros in their own section up by the front. The lancero is often overlooked, but the smoking dog understands the value of this vitola and it shows. I really can’t say enough good things about this establishment and each time I plan on going, I get excited about what I’m going to try next. This is the best cigar shop/lounge in the area.

Going into this shop was an excellent experience. Very kind and informative shop owners. Exceptional array of cigars! Over and above any cigar shop I've visited. Gladly purchased a few lovely cigars and was given a sample cigar because I wasn't sure which flavor I wanted. Will gladly return when I want (need) more cigars. Highly recommend 👏

Stopped in here while my cat was at the emergency vet and it was a great time to take my mind off things. The tobacconist (who's name I didn't get, unfortunately) was watching Lord of the Rings in the back. I grabbed a few sticks, of which they had a great selection and then sat down in the lounge with him and shot the shit while taking in the ambiance of the film. This was an excellent experience. Great selection, good folks, reasonable prices, and a great lounge. I would visit again if I was in the area without a doubt.

Great place. I specifically go out of my way to go here when there are a couple places a little closer. I’m newer to the cigar life and Alex the manager is super approachable very knowledgeable and helpful. I’ll continue to take my 20 minute ride here.
