One of my favorite things to do when I travel is to visit local cigar shops. I was in Ligonier earlier this month for my daughter's swim meet at the YMCA, and stopped in to check out the selection. The best things about small, independently owned shops like this one are the selection and the service. I met the owner, Steve who walked me through each of the microbrands on hand including many made by friends of his in Texas and Florida, as well as his own brand. I ended up purchasing four sticks. Pictured, Left to right: Big Sky Tobacco Blonde Minnow Petite Salomon 4.75 x 44, Flatbed Cigar Co Whippoorwill Toro Grande, Exes From Texas Bar-P Wild Rose Robusto, and finally his own Redcoat Cigar Company barber pole Toro. I smoked the Redcoat the following afternoon. It was bold and flavorful. Lasted about 45 minutes. Last weekend I smoked the Exes which was smaller and a quicker burn, and tasted like cherry licorice in the best possible way. Shops like these are one of the best things about my habit/hobby/obsession. I look forward to future visits.

The folks at Redcoat cigars are top-notch. Great location and atmosphere. Super knowledgeable staff that asked all the right questions and recommended me a winner. Glad to have this in our town.

Hands down, the best cigar shop in the area. I frequent many cigar lounges and shops. The unique selection offered and friendly and knowledgeable service ranks Redcoat at the top. Any time I’m at Ligonier, I make it a point to stop off and buy a few more (especially the “Braddock”- a must). Keep up the great work, Steve!

I had the chance to meet the proprietor, Steve, during a casual stop-in. It was a real pleasure to chat with him about his passion for the boutique experience in town, and how he strives to introduce unusual new cigar flavour profiles whilst maintaining a quite good inventory of the "tried-&-true" cigars. Besides all this...how much more excellent could the name be for an outstanding little town that features a 1758 British/American fort that took part in the Seven Years War? Well worth the visit...

Redcoat Cigar is a nice little shop, very unique to the nice little town. If you are a cigar smoker, I’m sure you would appreciate the selection, but even if you aren’t, the white-glove service can help you find something. Great price points for the novice looking to try something new or different. If you support small businesses (you’re in Ligonier, after all), you should stop in and say hi.
