Long story short: come here, give these people your money and enjoy some fine tobacco products in a friendly atmosphere. I travel a lot, and I try to stop at shops that look like they’ll have pipe stuff, because I smoke pipes, and even if they don’t have pipe stuff I’ll still enjoy a cigar. If you like pipes, they have some very pretty briar Savinelli, Molina, Ascorti, , and Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation pipes in a variety of colors and finishes, and more are coming per my conversation with the proprietor, whose name I regrettably did not get during my time there. They also carry meerschaum pipes, which is cool (take it from me, it really is cool). The cigar selection was excellent (I went with a Padron 1926 #35), and while there were several Peter Stokkebye bulk pipe tobacco selections on offer, I decided to grab a couple ounces of the shop’s house blend “Second Breakfast” which was a playful and mild natural English blend with sweet and creamy bright and orange Virginias that were very forward; it was a winner, and if any of you out there in Googleland are missing MacBaren’s Plumcake, this tobacco is in the same neighborhood and they probably go to tobacco church together. I stopped in for about three hours and smoked the cigar and two bowls of Second Breakfast in a Peterson rusticated 103 that I had with me while doing some paperwork. Their vending machine has snacks and drinks; their bathroom is clean; the ventilation is unobtrusive to the smoking experience yet effective; they didn’t pay me one cent or ask me to write this review. I just had that good of a time here. If you, like I was, are on the road and looking for a place to relax and smoke, then stop here. I was a little disappointed by the lack of tinned tobacco, but I have come to accept that it’s simply not feasible for a lot of shops. Bulk trade just makes more sense for many reasons, and I’m happy that this shop appears to be getting its blending leaf from Peter Stokkebye - luxury navy flake, luxury twist flake, and bullseye flake are all here in addition to the house blends (here’s a tip, Bullseye ages very, very well and can scratch the Escudo Navy De Luxe itch quite handily). Also, there is an orange tree out front, which is in and of itself a reason to visit, as I, a simpleton, had never before seen an orange tree.

… where to begin… I’m gonna keep this as kind and to the point as possible without trying to be offensive because I am upset. But I can deal with it. I feel like this store might have at one time been a safe haven and cool place for pipe smokers… long ago in a California far far away… But I feel perhaps it started with a few laws here and there along with shifting interests of social groups and tobacco just down right falling out of public favor. It’s unfortunate because I wonder how this country might even exist today without tobacco. To put a law on tobacco as some states have is just a crime in of itself in my opinion. With that said, I can’t really hate this place for having high prices… But when it comes down to it, they’re charging sometimes 2x the price for things such as 8 ounces of bulk that is normally about $25 before taxes is going to be about $46 before taxes… or so I believe I was told? Basically what I’m getting at isn’t even necessarily the highway robbery, it’s the fact that what I am paying for then IS the experience of a storefront shopping pipe tobacco outing… and I know that. But the few times I have come to your store now, I have dealt with a few irritations personally that turned me off from coming there and made me decide to just stick with online ordering from now on. I did want to try and support my local shop and all that. But the attitude of the people and their lack of passion for pipes and pipe tobacco was just kinda like like “wow okay do you guys now work at a shop called mission pipe tobacco..? Cuz you guys don’t seem to even smoke pipe tobacco or even like it or know anything about it..?” One of the clerks the last time I went literally did like the opposite of an up-sale… so I guess like he tried to down-sell me on a particular strain or like make me try to feel belittled of its’ significance or importance to me or my friends. Idk it was kind of weird. My friends and I are college students and like everyone vapes or just smokes cigarettes mostly now days, but we want to smoke pipes while we play D&D cuz not all of my friends smoke weed, but something about smoking in a social circle feels good together and so I like to make sure I always have a few blends of tobacco on hand. Especially weird stuff for people that are new like the bullseye flake. That is stuff is otherworldly to people that have never seen it or really smoked pipe tobacco before… and many people are willing to try it. I am literally a tobacco activist as ridiculous as that may sound. I promote historical and scientifically backed evidence for the medicinal and general health benefits of tobacco… also holy shit bitcoin just dropped another 5% overnight… anyways. I’ve made my point… Good luck to your cigar lounge, I wish I had had the pleasure of meeting the actual owners or the original owners and seen their pipe tobacco shop when it was in its’ prime… The store also does not carry any snus or Davidoff cigarettes like its’ website guarantees it does and makes a pretty big deal about it actually with all their certifications and whatnot… Maybe disconnect your website from Google while you’re having worked on as you claim… or is this all some elaborate trap to catch some people like me off my guard and rob me of $100 I could have gotten 2-3x as much stuff for online and way more variety… and Davidoff snus and cigarettes for everyone lol
