The best way to describe McCranie’s is that it is a true to form tobacconist. More pipes to see in one visit, an excellent selection of tobacco, and a friendly staff that’s willing to help. This is the model every tobacconist should strive to achieve. If you’re looking for pipe tobacco, they have it. If you’re looking for cigars, they have a fantastic humidor. If you’re looking for a gift for a smoker if you’re life, this is the place to visit. You will have a wonderful experience at McCranie’s.

Earlier this week, my wife and I had the honor and privilege of attending a surprise 40th birthday party for a former student. Upon learning from his wife that he enjoyed fine cigars, I asked my son to buy some of the best from McCranie’s Pipe Shop by the Bossy Beulah’s restaurant at the Park Road Shopping Center. At the party, I took the liberty to publicly present my former student with his gift and say a few words quoting from Winston Churchill, “Smoking cigars is like falling in love; first you are attracted to its shape; you stay for its flavour, and you must always remember never, never let the flame go out,” I slightly modified the quote by substituting “her” for “its.” Needless to say, the gift was well received.

Stopped by while visiting from Boone. Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a lot of in-house pipe tobacco blends that all smell unique and delicious. Pipe selections range from your everyday low/mid typical pipe makers to some truly beautiful pipes. I picked up an estate pipe that just fit perfectly in my hand, along with some tins and bulk house blends. I will be back again and certainly will order some of their blends online when I run out. Cheers!

Best cigar and pipe shop in Charlotte. Beginner friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Feels like stepping into a 19th century tobacconist shop in the best way. Highly recommend.
