My love for supporting small businesses as a marketer brought me to this small business tobacco shop in Washington, D.C. - the oldest sustained business in the historic city of Georgetown, DC. My journey into Georgetown Tobacco was not just a visit to a shop but a meeting with a passionate individual, David Berkebile. His love for his work and the community was palpable as he shared the story of how he established Georgetown Tobacco in Washington, D.C.'s historic hub of commerce back in 1964. We had the pleasure of meeting several of the staff, who take great pride in their work and the longevity of their business. David shared with us the evolution of business at M St NW, Washington, DC, over the years. Georgetown Tobacco remains a community pillar, offering diverse products, including top-notch cigars, pipes, and tobacco. They also feature some of the most exquisite canes, cuff links, and fun Venetian Carnival masks, making it a haven for those seeking unique gifts. This represents US history in our capital city and the lifestyle of many of its founding members and citizens of notable society. The whimsical figurine given center stage in the tobacco shop is from Punch Magazine in England. The renovation of Georgetown Tobacco once included purchasing and moving an 1880 apothecary from Pennsylvania when a shop was closing. It's exceptional—as is the entire shop! I advise you not to mistake it for just being the finest tobacco shop in DC; it also sells interesting and rare items for home and personal treasures. Our visit to Georgetown Tobacco was more than just a shopping trip. We left with a sense of kinship with the community and a newfound friendship with David Berkebile. We wholeheartedly recommend this shop to anyone searching for a unique gift, a memorable outing, and a chance to support a quality, family-run business that has maintained its distinctiveness over time. Knowing someone who occasionally takes pleasure in a very fine cigar, we purchased and tucked away a special Christmas gift.

Recently, my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting this place. It specializes in cigars, tobaccos, pipes, and handmade masquerade masks. The selection, quality, and affordability of the masks absolutely blew us away. The shop's atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the customer service was top-notch. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in their work and the longevity of their business, which has been around for an impressive 60 years. We were also delighted to meet Eva, the friendly dog who greeted us with a wagging tail.
