This is more than just a cigar shop; it's a community. When I started smoking cigars three months ago, I had no idea where to begin. The staff at Davidus was fantastic, guiding me and recommending a bunch of great cigars. I was always a little intimidated by the back lounge where the regulars hung out, but the employees encouraged me to join. They literally walked me back and introduced me to everyone. It completely changed my experience. Now I'm a regular, too! The atmosphere is a perfect 10/10, and I’ve never met a nicer group of people. This place is a gem.

I was excited to find a cigar lounge less than 10 minutes from my hotel on a recent visit. Cecily was awesome taking me through the entire humidor. She talked me into a Marylander, Lord Baltimore, and a couple Sea Knights - these are all private label and don’t have access to them at home. Davidus will definitely be my go-to anytime I am in the area and near one.

UPDATE: (May 2nd, 2025) They upgraded 3 of the 11 leather chairs. Attached photos are what the remaining chairs look like. As someone who at times has lower back pain this is what we still have to sit on. Someone put cigar boxes under the cushion!!! Meanwhile we are now required to buy a stick every time we visit even if you purchased a box of cigars during your last visit. We are pressed to spend as much as possible while we experience an uncomfortable time in their lounge. OLD REVIEW BELOW: Great employees, Great Cigars. However over the last 2 years the chairs in the lounge have greatly worn out. This week I asked someone in management about when we would be getting new chairs/cushions, and while given no specific date and time, I was told I could bring in my own cushion. That's no different than going to a restaurant and they tell you to bring your own clean plates to eat off of. With that being said, Some of us HAVE in fact brought in foldable yard chairs, and seat cushions. This doesn’t change the fact that Customer Service is what you serve to the customer! I participate in cigar events, and purchase extra cigars to obtain raffle tickets in order to win prizes. I spend the money! Now i’m being encouraged to purchase a locker. I would have found this idea appealing if my current needs were being met. Also the ventilation needs to improve. The floor is beginning to come up. Great Staff, Great People, Great times. But the Lounge needs work. The Sandy Spring Olney location is where I went today to hear friends who are regulars there laugh at how bad the shady grove/gaithersburg lounge is falling apart.

I echo what other reviewers say about really poor customer service. Haven’t been to this location before so my partner and I walked in wanting to browse. Clearly we were inconveniencing the staff by being there. We came in and one of the workers calls out from the back and when we didn’t know they were speaking to us, he swings the door open and asks, “What are we doing? What are we doing here?” My partner responds, “Can I look around for options?” He rushes us in and keeps pushing “what do you want? What are you looking for?” At this point, we’ve been rubbed the wrong way with this man’s attitude and pushiness. We still browse around and ultimately decide not to spend our money here. I advise everyone to do the same and not spend your time or dollars here. The humidifier in the room looks disgusting and hasn’t been cleaned in a decade, sofas still look worn and cheap, selection is fine but could be restocked. Customer service is abysmal. Arrogant, pushy, condescending, and so unpleasant.

Excellent service! I went in and realized the smell was too strong. So I called them from outside also I didn’t know if I could bring ny kid in. So when I called I forget his name but he came outside and helped me figure out whether they had whatever I needed. And he was really nice about it. I think his name was Steve.
