First time going to a Cigar shop Location was a little sketchy, but inside was really nice. Guy inside was very knowledgeable. Walk me through different cigars & would recommend if you’re in the area to stop by.

Wonderful atmosphere. We were able to sit out in the courtyard which was really nice a comfy. Has really great cigar selection and the owner is really nice. He suggested new cigars to us. This place is so cozy and inviting. The owner was very social but he allowed us to sit out by ourselves and have our own little vibe while checking on us to ensure we didn’t need anything. Overall this place was awesome!

I’ve visited The Cigar Man in Chattanooga twice. The first time was a fantastic experience—I had a great conversation with the owner, who even showed me photos of the deck he built at his home. That level of hospitality made me want to come back. On my second visit—while in town celebrating my birthday—the experience was completely different. From the moment I walked in, the energy felt off. The first person who greeted me said, “Can I help you find something?” Now, in a cigar lounge—where people go for a relaxing experience—that tone didn’t feel welcoming at all. It came across as if I didn’t belong there. Thankfully, the owner’s son came out, remembered me, and helped calm the atmosphere. We sat out back and started smoking. Later, I went inside to buy another cigar, and that’s when things really went downhill. A man named Terry approached me, and from the start, his tone was loud, intrusive, and condescending—like he was talking at me, not to me. He kept interrupting my conversation with the owner’s son, acting like I needed his direction. Honestly, it felt like profiling. At one point, I had to stop what I was doing and just stare at him because his behavior was so out of line. There was an awkward silence—he knew I was close to saying something he wouldn’t like—but I kept my cool. I shouldn’t have to manage my own frustration in a place that’s supposed to be about relaxation and good vibes. To his credit, the owner’s son apologized for Terry’s behavior, which tells me I wasn’t imagining how disrespectful it was. But that apology doesn’t erase the fact that it ruined my experience. As a business owner myself, I know not every customer is always right—but when an employee makes guests feel disrespected and unwelcome, and management has to apologize, that’s a serious problem.

Short version first... Great shop, excellent customer service, great selection, reasonable prices, my new go-to place for cigars when in Chattanooga! And in case your looking for a more complete review.... Jeff was a true pleasure to both do business with and hang out with! Don't let his age fool you, he is a very knowledgeable cigar enthusiast. He answered all of my questions, recommended several excellent cigars, and never once made me feel like I was keeping him from getting back to his own cigar like I've experienced in some other shops. There was a great variety and selection from classics to boutiques and even several hard-to-finds. I highly recommend you hang out and enjoy a cigar in their lounge if you have the time. I was there late on a Wednesday afternoon and didn't get to meet any regulars, but if my time with Jeff was any indication, I'm certain the locals are a great group of people too! My only complaint is that it's 2 hours from my home in Franklin, TN! I'll definitely be back! By the way, the Perez Carillo La Historia torpedo he recommended based on me mentioning I consistently enjoy Nicaraguan blends is absolutely delicious! One the best cigars I've smoke in a while!
