Found out this gem of a bar/lounge was only 5 minutes from my house. Staff and patrons are very friendly. The bartender, Jazz, makes the best old fashioned I've had. Unfortunately they are not going to be offering my go to cigar anymore but that's not going to stop me from going, there's plenty of other cigars to try. They let me set up my chess board and play. They have food vendors that come in sometimes and the food is quality!! If I'm off from work I'll sometimes just come in and have a good stick and relaxe.

I stopped by on a Wednesday night for my birthday, planning to just grab a small pack of French cigarillos because I was feeling fancy. I figured it’d be a quick in-and-out, but the guy at the register mentioned it was his birthday too and invited me to stay for some cake. I did—and that’s when I heard roaring laughter shaking the walls from the back of the shop. Curious, I wandered through the aromatic rows of imported cigars in the walk-in humidor until I found a glass door that opened into a hidden gem: a gorgeous dark wood bar that felt straight out of a 1920’s New Orleans speakeasy The bar manager welcomed me right in, and the comedian on stage was not only hilarious but also incredibly kind and so much fun, he introduced me to people and even invited me back next Wednesday for an open mic poetry slam. The vibe was amazing. Everyone seemed to know each other, but as a newcomer I felt instantly at home. Stories were told, drinks were poured, cigars were lit, and the whole room buzzed with camaraderie. The bar itself is impressive, including topshelf liquor crafted to perfection by a true mixologist. And for a cigar-adjacent spot, the ventilation was surprisingly good. This place is just too cool. I’ll definitely be back (probably before Wednesday). If you’re in Houston, add Monte Cristo to your must-stop list. Trust me, you’ll want to experience it at least once. Next time I’ll add photos of the cigar sections. I’ll allow for more time, there’s just so much to take in.

Fantastic place to enjoy a cigar. A welcoming community of cigar afficanados and attentive, knowledge staff make this one of the best cigar lounges in Houston. They host a range of events throughout the week and if you're an NFL football fan you'll have no shortage of discussion watching your favorite team. The bartender Matt is an encyclopedia of cigar, football and distilled alcohol knowledge and Jazz, the other bartender is attentive and a great mixologist. I would definitely recommend!
